Upcoming! You Have an Inheritance!

Maarjamäe Palace

In autumn 2025, the exhibition “You Have an Inheritance!” will open at Maarjamäe Palace.


The exhibition travels through time and space, inviting visitors to reflect on the cultural landscape around us. What have we inherited from previous generations through their decisions to build or demolish? How well do we recognise what holds cultural significance, what is incidental or what remains hidden – both tangible and intangible heritage? Together, we will examine how cultural heritage has been understood and what value has been placed on the traces left behind. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of heritage conservation in Estonia and marks the centenary of the country’s first law protecting antiquities.


Designed for the whole family, the exhibition offers engaging activities and discoveries for visitors of all ages.
