Coming soon! I want to play! Hands-on exhibition for children

‘I Want to Play!’ is an engaging new hands-on exhibition for adults and children alike. The exhibition takes you to exciting places in the world of music and theatre, opening the door to a world usually hidden from public view.

Every step on that journey is a game in itself. For example, visitors of any age can become a composer or conductor and stand before a full orchestra, or try their hand at being a set designer, make-up artist, lighting technician or musician across the three floors of the museum. In this way, everyone can be part of the production team, their roles creating the magic of the stage.

Music and theatre come to life in the exhibition through hands-on activities as you encounter mouth-watering props, resounding instruments, set design models, fancy wigs, talking costumes and more. Exhibits explaining how music and theatre are made share the spotlight with a broad selection of museum pieces.

We put the exhibition together with kids aged 7-11 in mind, but the most fun way of exploring it is with the whole family. Creativity needs space to grow, and the exhibition provides an environment, background stories and tips and tricks to spark children's interest in music and theatre through a hands-on experience.
